How does LaseMD Ultra work?

LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative, fractional thulium laser. This means that the top layer of the skin is not removed. Instead, the laser delivers very fine, pinpoint pulses into the upper layers of the skin.

This results in two effects:

  • Regeneration of skin cells: The skin produces increased amounts of its own collagen and elastin. This firms the skin from within, giving it a more youthful appearance.
  • Improved absorption of active ingredients: Following laser treatment, nourishing active ingredients can penetrate deeper into the skin, where they can work more effectively.

This becomes visible through a fresher complexion, a more even skin tone, and a finer skin texture. The long healing period, typical of traditional ablative lasers, is eliminated.

    The laser creates tiny microchannels in the skin, which allow active ingredients to penetrate much more effectively. Immediately after the laser treatment, we therefore apply highly concentrated serums tailored to your specific skin condition—for instance, to target dark spots, boost hydration, or soothe the skin.

    • Retinol: supports cell renewal and collagen production; suitable for fine lines, wrinkles, and blemish-prone skin
    • Vitamin C (10%): a powerful antioxidant that enhances radiance and supports skin brightening as well as collagen formation
    • Tranexamic acid: helps with melasma, pigmentation issues, uneven skin tone, and redness
    • Resveratrol: acts as an antioxidant, regulates sebum production, and combats signs of aging

      This is how the LaseMD treatment works

      1. Consultation: We assess your skin, discuss your goals, and work together to create a personalized treatment plan.
      2. Preparation: Your skin is thoroughly cleansed; if necessary, we apply a numbing cream.
      3. Laser treatment: A handheld device with a roller glides evenly over your skin. Most people feel nothing more than warmth or a slight tingling sensation.
      4. Active-ingredient application: Next, we apply serums specifically selected for your needs.
      5. Aftercare: You will receive clear instructions on how to care for your skin in the days following the treatment.

      After the treatment

      Immediately after the session, the skin may appear red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. In the days that follow, it might feel somewhat rough to the touch. Treated pigmented spots often darken temporarily before being shed as the skin renews itself. These reactions typically subside after a few days.

      Important: Consistent sun protection (SPF 50) is mandatory in the weeks following the treatment.

      Autumn and winter are the best times, as solar radiation is weaker during these seasons. However, with consistent sun protection, treatment can, in principle, be carried out all year round.

      For example, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in the presence of acute inflammation or infections in the area to be treated, if you have a fresh suntan, or while taking certain medications. We will clarify this with you beforehand.
